General FAQs
What products do you offer?
We specialize in custom window screens built to your exact measurements, plus screen doors,
screen frame components, spline, corners, and multiple mesh options (standard fiberglass,
aluminum, pet‑resistant, solar, and high‑visibility).
Do you make custom-size screens?
Yes. Enter your exact width and height to the nearest 1/16 inch and
we’ll fabricate to size.
What mesh and frame options are available?
Mesh: standard fiberglass, aluminum, pet‑resistant, solar/sun control, no‑see‑um/high‑visibility,
and pollen/allergen mesh. Frames: multiple colors and thicknesses with matching internal
corners and hardware.
Can you match an existing screen?
Usually yes. Provide precise measurements and details (frame thickness,
corner type, hardware, spline size), and upload photos at checkout
if possible.
Do you offer screens for unusual windows?
We can build for many window types: vinyl, wood, and aluminum frames;
inside or outside mount. Share photos if your application is unique.
Measuring and Compatibility
How do I measure for a replacement window screen?
Measure the exact “finished size” you want made:Width: left to right
across the opening where the screen sits.Height: top to bottom across the opening.
Note frame thickness, corner type (square/inside), hardware (pull tabs, springs, plunger latches),
and spline diameter.Tip: If you have an old screen that fits well, measure that instead.
What if my window opening isn’t perfectly square?
Measure both diagonals and each side; use the smallest consistent measurements.
If out‑of‑square is significant, share photos and we’ll
advise the best fit approach.
What’s the difference between inside mount and outside mount?
Inside mount fits within the channel of the window frame; outside
mount overlaps the opening and sits on the exterior face. Your measurements should
reflect the intended mount type.
Can I replace just the mesh?
Yes. You can order mesh rolls and spline to re‑screen an existing frame,
or order a new complete screen.
How do I determine spline size?
Check any marking on the old spline, or measure diameter with calipers.
Typical sizes range from 0.125" to 0.190". If unsure, we can send a sample kit.
Ordering and Customization
How do I place a custom order?
Choose your frame color/thickness, mesh type, hardware, and enter
your finished width and height. Upload photos if you want us to verify
corner and hardware types before fabrication.
Is there a minimum or maximum size?
Minimum: [fill in] W × [fill in] H. Maximum: [fill in] W × [fill in] H. Oversize
screens may require reinforcement bars.
Can I upload photos or diagrams?
Yes—highly recommended for complex windows. Clear shots of the
frame channel, old screen corners, and hardware help ensure a perfect match.
Do you store past orders?
Yes. Create an account at checkout and we’ll keep your specs for easy
reordering.
Lead Times and Shipping
What are your current production times?
Custom screens: typically [fill in number] business days to fabricate.
Peak seasons may add [fill in] days.
How long does shipping take and which carriers do you use?
Transit time is typically [fill in] business days via [UPS/FedEx/other].
You’ll receive tracking when your order ships.
Do you offer expedited options?
Rush fabrication and/or expedited shipping may be available.
Contact us at [support email/phone] before ordering.
Do you ship to PO boxes, Alaska/Hawaii, or internationally?
PO boxes: [yes/no]. AK/HI: [yes/no; surcharges may apply]. International:
[yes/no; duties/taxes responsibility].
How are oversize screens packaged?
We use reinforced cartons, protective corner blocks, and internal
bracing to minimize transit damage.
Pricing and Payment
How is pricing calculated?
Based on size, frame type, mesh selection, hardware, and any reinforcement.
Your price updates in real time as you configure.
What payment methods do you accept?
Major credit/debit cards, [PayPal/Shop Pay/Apple Pay/Google Pay],
and select financing options where available.
Do you offer bulk or contractor discounts?
Yes for qualifying orders. Email [sales@…] with sizes, quantities, and
mesh type for a custom quote.
Do you charge sales tax?
We collect tax where required by law based on the shipping address.
Can I get a formal quote?
Yes. Contact us with your complete list of sizes, mesh, and frame specs
for a written estimate.
Installation and Use
How do I install my new screen?
Most inside‑mount screens: insert the bottom edge, compress springs/
plungers, then pivot the top into the channel and release. Outside‑mount:
align and secure per the hardware type. See our installation guide/videos.
Do I need special tools?
No, typically just your hands and a flat tool for gentle leverage. For
re‑screening a frame, a spline roller is helpful.
How do I adjust plunger latches or springs?
Depress plungers to seat the frame; minor tension is normal. If fit is
too tight/loose, contact us before modifying hardware.
Can I use these with window guards or child-safety devices?
Screens are not fall‑prevention devices. Maintain required egress
and safety clearances.
Maintenance and Care
How do I clean window screens?
Remove the screen and rinse with a gentle stream of water. Use mild soap
and a soft brush; avoid pressure washers and harsh chemicals.
How often should mesh be replaced?
Many customers re‑screen every 5–10 years depending on UV exposure,
pets, and environment.
Are the screens UV and corrosion resistant?
Fiberglass and aluminum meshes are designed for outdoor use; frames
are coated for durability. Coastal environments may require more
frequent maintenance.
Can I repair a small tear?
Small punctures can be patched with a screen repair kit. For larger
damage, re‑screening is best.
How should I store screens seasonally?
Clean, dry, and store upright in a protected area to avoid bending.
Product Options and Performance
Which mesh should I choose?
Standard fiberglass: great airflow and value.
High‑visibility/no‑see‑um: finer yarns for clearer views and small
insect protection.
Aluminum: durable and more rigid, slightly less clear than fiberglass.
Pet‑resistant: thicker, tear‑resistant; slightly reduced airflow/visibility.
Solar/sun control: reduces heat/glare and UV; lowers light and visibility
modestly.
Pollen/allergen mesh: denser weave to help reduce airborne particles.
Do darker meshes reduce visibility or airflow?
Dark meshes actually improve outward visibility versus light meshes but
can slightly reduce airflow depending on weave density.
Do solar screens help with energy savings?
Yes—by cutting solar heat gain and glare. Results vary by climate,
window orientation, and mesh density.
Returns, Remakes, and Warranty
What’s your return policy?
Custom‑made screens are fabricated to your specifications and are
typically non‑returnable. If there is a manufacturing defect or shipping damage,
we’ll remake or repair per our policy. Standard parts and accessories may
follow a [fill in]-day return window if unused and in original packaging.
See our full policy.
What warranty do you offer?
Frames and hardware: [fill in duration] limited warranty against
manufacturing defects. Mesh is a wear item and not typically warranted
against tears/cuts. Full terms apply.
My order arrived damaged—what should I do?
Save all packaging and take clear photos of the box and product.
Contact us within [fill in] days of delivery at [support email/phone] so we
can file a claim and arrange a remake.
What if there’s a measurement or fabrication error?
If we made an error, we’ll remake it at no charge. If measurements provided
were incorrect, we offer discounted remakes—contact us for options.
